  • Brass is any alloy of copper and  zinc.   
  • Muted yellow color relatively resistant to tarnishing. 
  • Higher malleability than copper 
    or zinc.
  • Excellent acoustic properties. 
  • Relatively low melting point of brass (900 to 940°C)
  • Fairly easy material to cast.
  • Naval brass contains 
    tin and is resistant
    to sea water
  • 90% of all brass alloys are recycled.
